Overview

Siberia is often associated with cold and distance, but it is a region of incredible natural beauty and cultural richness. The Altai Mountains offer some of the most stunning alpine scenery in Russia, perfect for horse trekking and mountaineering. The Republic of Buryatia, near Lake Baikal, is the center of Buddhism in Russia, with colorful datsans and unique traditions. The taiga, a vast belt of coniferous forest, is home to diverse wildlife and remote communities.

When to Visit

Siberia's seasons are extreme, and timing is crucial for a comfortable trip:

Summer (June – August)

Winter (January – March)

For those who want to experience the true 'Siberian Winter.' Ideal for visiting Lake Baikal's ice or experiencing traditional nomadic cultures in the snow.
