Overview

Russia is a land of epic proportions and deep cultural roots. Moscow, the capital, is a blend of Soviet-era architecture and modern skyscrapers, with the Kremlin and Red Square at its heart. St. Petersburg, the 'Venice of the North,' offers imperial palaces, world-class museums like the Hermitage, and the romantic 'White Nights' of summer. Beyond the cities, the Trans-Siberian Railway stretches across the continent, passing through vast forests, mountains, and the shores of Lake Baikal.

When to Visit

The best time to visit Russia depends on whether you want to experience the summer bloom or the winter frost:

Summer (June – August)

The most popular time, with long days and pleasant temperatures. St. Petersburg's White Nights in late June and early July are a magical experience.

Winter (December – February)

While cold, Russia in winter is incredibly picturesque. Snow-covered cathedrals and frozen canals offer a classic Russian experience.
